An in-depth interview with Ronan is featured on the latest edition of the podcast Small World. (Show number 402). Tracks from "We Want To Be Loved" are played and discussed, as well as topics like.....how Ronan ended up in America, Thanksgiving Day as an Irish man and when a new Grouse album might be expected.
There is a review of the album on "The Past And Present" webzine from September 16th that we missed at the time. Seems to be best viewed on their Myspace page. Link is here. They gave the album 4 out of 6 and even got to use the word "arse" in the review........which is nice.

Smother.net has given "We Want To Be Loved" a nice little review.
Here's what they had to say:
"San Franciscan ambient dub that howls with thick bass and deep sonic textures, gROUSe is the work of musician/producer Ronan Carroll. Ronan is an Irish born immigrant who came to America back in ..94. His songs are layered with atmospheric synths, samples, sparse drum beats, and a whirlwind of looped effects. Downtempo abstract creations, this self-titled album is a strong reminder of the powerful voice of dub music."
Read for yourself here. It's reviewed right next to the latest Ministry record!

Erasoul.com has picked "We Want To Be Loved" as one of their recommendations for April 2006.
This is what they say: ""A surprisingly diverse album ranging from loungey downtempo to spacey drum n' bass. Also, a lot of live instrumentation fills out the Grouse sound nicely. The album only gets better with each song, showing more range while staying focused. All well-produced and cohesive throughout the entire album."

Happy New Year! We're excited about 2006 and there are going to be some big changes taking place throughout the course
of the year, including changes to this website.
Ronan has been working on new music recently, including a bangin' dance track completely different to existing gROUSe
music which may or may not be released under that moniker and also some other more downbeat material too. Look out for a new gROUSe EP
possibly this year or a full album in 2007, depending on time constraints, touring, families and all the other fun day to day stuff.
So onto some stuff that's been happening:
Overexposure.FM has put 4 songs from the album in rotation on their
web radio stream. The songs are "Prosperous", "Dedlya", "Big Man" and "As If To Prove a Point".
Listen in and tell them how much you like them!
Overexposure.FM is a great station and won awards for "Best Chilled / Ambient Station" and "Best Downtempo DJ" at the 2005 Web Radio Awards.
I forgot to mention it at the time but Dave's Lounge, which features some incredible
independent music in a weekly podcast, recently played "Suicide Kils Me" among some other cool tunes.
Download it here: Dave's Lounge #26.
